Swiss Gear LED lantern

Got this lantern for emergencies.  Plugged it in to charge it but nothing happens. No lights telling me it is charging. Even so, how do you turn this lantern on?  There is a gold button that suggests it could turn the light on however it appears to be frozen, as in "does not move" at all.
